Dr. Cristin is a gastroenterologist with specialties in transplant hepatology and internal medicine. After obtaining his medical degree in Florida, he moved to Denver to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Cristin stayed at the same institution in Denver to complete his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship. He also completed further sub-specialization training in transplant hepatology.
During his training, Dr. Cristin researched quality of life in liver transplant recipients and the variety of factors that affect it. He has had the honor of presenting his research at multiple national conferences. Dr. Cristin has received multiple honors including the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) Leape Ahead Award and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During his training, he was nominated for the Gold Humanism & Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr. Cristin is a transplant hepatologist who specializes in the care of patients with acute and chronic liver disease before and after liver transplantation. His goal is to provide outstanding care to patients with complex problems in a way that his patients and their family can understand. He strives to provide personalized care specific to each individual patient’s care goals.
He is a member of the American Society of Transplantation (AST), American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). His areas of special interest include all aspects of liver disease, though he remains enthusiastic about general gastroenterology and digestive diseases. He performs a large volume of gastroenterology procedures, including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, and liver biopsies.
Dr. Cristin sees patients at Gastroenterology of the Rockies in Denver, Lakewood and Northglenn locations. He’s on the medical staff at Boulder Community Health, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Lutheran Medical Center, and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
